During this weekend course we will define and describe the two truths as understood by all four philosophical systems within Buddhism.
Then within the context of the Madhyamaka philosophical system we will examine each of the two truths in more detail. In particular investigating how we are stuck in samsara due to our misunderstanding of the ultimate truth and how through realising the ultimate truth we can attain nirvana and enlightenment.
Also included will be meditations investigating the ultimate truth.
This is a great opportunity to delve deeper into the philosophical foundations of the Buddha’s assertion that we can all be free from problems and suffering once and for all. And if you are studying the Foundation of Buddhist Thought course, this will be the perfect introduction to the next module, beginning in January. Feedback from students the last time Glen visited was very positive:
It was so clear!”
“I wish I’d heard this 20 years ago”
“He sorted out misunderstandings I’d had for years – and I didn’t even know I had some of them!”
“It was scholarly, and at the same time so very practical – I know where to start right now.”
