We are happy to offer all our Dharma teachings free of charge, and although we currently request donations to cover the running costs of our weekly classes, nobody should feel excluded due to lack of funds.
Our vision for the future direction of Jamyang Bath is one of steady growth, offering authentic, quality teachings from qualified teachers as widely as possible. We want to rent a space in central Bath which is accessible to all, attractive, spacious and flexible, where we can offer a greater range of teachings and events. We want to offer more classes of different types and at different times of the day, host visiting teachers, and for people to be able to drop into a quiet and welcoming space where they can meditate, access our library and chat with friends over a cup of coffee.
Everyone involved with Jamyang Bath is an unpaid volunteer, and this together with the class contributions means that we cover our costs at the moment. But more is needed if we are to rent a permanent space in the city centre. We have estimated that it will cost some £200 per week to cover the costs of rent and basic bills. For this we need to rely on dedicated long-term support. We need friends.
A Friend is someone who…
Friends make the commitment of a regular donation to enable the group to meet daily running costs and plan ahead for future growth.
People may become Friends because they find the group personally helpful and of value, but also because they hope it will be so for others. Being a Friend is about appreciating the group and ensuring its ongoing life not only for ourselves and for now, but also for future generations.
